All my life, I’ve loved to travel. My dream has been to visit all the countries that interest me on every continent. Until July 2021, however, I’d never left North America.

In Spring of 2021, we could see the world beginning to reopen. Dempsey said, “This year is yours. It’s time to make your travel dream come true.” And so we did!

We’re spending fifteen weeks exploring the world, and you’re invited along.

Exploring Portland

Our trip to the Pacific Northwest began with 3 days in Portland with our granddaughter, Valentina. The first day we explored the city, beginning with the riverfront. The second day we drove to the coast, near where Dempsey lived as a young man. Depoe Bay is known as a whale watching center, although we had just missed several sightings. The town has a tiny 6-acre harbor, so we watched boats navigating in, before buying taffy and enjoying a great lunch.
