One more Barcelona landmark, the Terre Agbar. It’s the third tallest structure in the city, and it’s covered with LED lights in red and green and purple. It’s very cool. The architect says he was inspired by a fountain, but as you might imagine, citizens of the city have coined a few names of their own. And of course, La Sagrada Familia. Unfortunately, we didn’t plan well and got there too late to have the time we needed to really tour the inside.
The next day things took a turn and most of Dempsey’s time was spent running up and downstairs to the train station trying to book us on a train to Seville. The Spanish railway workers were on strike, resulting in fewer available trains. While Dempsey did his travel coordinator thing, I stayed in bed, finished my meds, and completed my recovery from the bronchitis that had put me in the hospital in Venice.
This is Gaudi’s masterpiece, under construction since 1882.
